Educational Requirements:

LL.B (Honors) and LL.M from a UGC-approved university or a recognized foreign institution.

Must be enrolled as an Advocate with the Bangladesh Bar Council.

Candidates holding Bar-at-Law or PhD in Law will be given preference.

No third division/class in any academic stage is acceptable.

Experience Requirements:

Minimum 10 years of legal practice experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a bank or financial institution’s legal department.

Practical exposure in:

Banking laws and financial regulatory compliance

Islamic banking principles and Shariah-compliant legal practices

Litigation, investment recovery, and dispute resolution

Legal contract drafting, enforcement, and negotiations

Handling non-performing loan (NPL) recovery cases

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the Chief Legal Officer (CLO) and provide strategic legal advice to the Board of Directors and Executive Management.

Oversee all legal operations including litigation, contract management, legal compliance, and regulatory affairs.

Formulate and implement robust legal strategies to support investment recovery, risk mitigation, and policy compliance.

Represent the Bank in court proceedings, arbitration, and negotiations.

Develop and maintain relationships with external legal counsels, regulatory bodies, and government institutions.

Monitor emerging legal risks and ensure the Bank’s frameworks are fully compliant with prevailing laws and Shariah principles.

Advise on corporate governance, mergers, contracts, and strategic partnerships aligned with the Bank's mission and regulatory requirements.

Additional Requirements:

Age: Flexible based on qualifications and experience

Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and leadership skills

Excellent command in both English and Bangla (spoken and written)

Sound understanding of Shariah-compliant banking systems
