Job Context:

Islamic Relief Bangladesh is seeking a talented and creative Communication & Media Officer to lead its visual and communication initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality photography, videography, and written content to document and promote the impact of IRB’s humanitarian and development projects. This role also includes managing publications, social media content, advocacy materials, and media engagement.

Experience Requirements:

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in NGOs or Development Agencies.

Age limit: Maximum 55 years.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

Proven experience in communication, publications, media relations, external engagement, and advocacy.

Technical skills in photography and videography, including camera handling, editing, and media production.

Proficiency in tools like Adobe Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Photoshop.

Ability to edit and subtitle videos with precision.

Strong storytelling skills through visuals and writing.

Knowledge of ethical standards in media and copyright.

Familiarity with content development for social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn).

Strong English and Bengali communication skills – reading, writing, listening, speaking.

Advanced skills in MS Office, database management, statistical software, and basic IT troubleshooting.

Strategic thinking, leadership, decision-making, and interpersonal communication.

Willingness to travel extensively and work in remote project areas.

Key Responsibilities:

Media Production (65%)

Capture professional photographs and videos at field sites.

Edit and organize visual content for reports and promotional materials.

Ensure all visuals align with IR branding and messaging.

Content & Communication Material Development (20%)

Design and produce brochures, newsletters, leaflets, banners, and other IEC materials.

Manage and update content on IR Bangladesh's website and social media.

Promote brand visibility through engaging and informative media.

Advocacy & Public Engagement (10%)

Develop relationships with media houses and journalists.

Support advocacy initiatives and campaigns.

Represent IRB in forums and external stakeholder engagements.

Other Responsibilities (5%)

Participate in seasonal programs (e.g., Ramadan, Qurbani).

Ensure adherence to safeguarding policies and child protection guidelines.

Travel frequently and perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
