Position: Inventory Planning Lead – Supply Chain Management

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline is required.

Candidates with an MBA, or a degree in IPE, CSE, or any Supply Chain-related field will be given preference.

Experience Requirements:

Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Demand Planning & Inventory Management (DPIM) or Supply Chain Management.

Relevant experience in the following sectors will be considered an advantage:

Job Responsibilities:

1. Supply Assurance:

Ensure continuous availability of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods across both in-house and toll manufacturing.

Monitor stock levels and raise timely purchase requests considering lead times and production cycles.

2. Material Scheduling & Cost Management:

Develop material scheduling strategies aligned with production plans.

Minimize inventory holding costs while maintaining optimal service levels.

3. S&OP Leadership:

Lead monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) sessions with Production, Sales, Marketing, Tolling, and Procurement teams to ensure alignment in demand forecasts, supply capabilities, and inventory strategies.

4. Production Planning:

Integrate production plans across in-house and third-party manufacturing facilities.

Align material availability with demand and operational capacities.

5. Forecasting & Rolling Planning:

Develop annual and rolling inventory forecasts for raw and finished goods, factoring in seasonality, sales trends, and market dynamics.

6. Inventory Control:

Implement and update inventory policies, including safety stock levels, reorder points, and cycle counts to reduce variances and improve accuracy.

7. Cross-functional Support:

Collaborate with Procurement for sourcing insights and Sales/Marketing for demand planning and promotional forecasts.

8. Exception & Risk Management:

Own responsibility for planning exceptions including delays, excesses, shortages, or discrepancies; perform root cause analysis and implement corrective measures.

9. System Integration:

Work closely with IT and warehouse teams to optimize ERP/MRP functionality (SAP preferred) for real-time inventory visibility and control.

10. Reporting & KPIs:

Track and report on key metrics: inventory aging, forecast accuracy, turnover ratio, and slow-moving/obsolete stock. Share insights in regular management reviews.

11. Inventory Traceability:

Design and enhance inventory tracking systems to ensure full traceability from procurement to production to distribution.

12. Production & Tolling Coordination:

Align tolling schedules with material dispatches and customer priorities to maintain flow and meet SLAs.

13. Compliance & Audit:

Ensure full compliance with internal controls and external audit standards related to inventory management.

14. Strategic Support:

Represent inventory and supply chain performance in leadership meetings. Contribute to strategic decision-making with insights and recommendations.

15. Ad-hoc Duties:

Take on special assignments or strategic initiatives as assigned by senior management.
